    To sign-in:  

    IMPORTANT: This system is completely seperate from the Provider Login and your password information from that system does not transfer.  Please follow the below directions to sign-in to the learning content.

    Username = Your 7-digit MD EMS Provider ID# found on your license  (ie.0999999) or the 8-digit number provided during registration for Non-Field Providers.

     Password =  Your date of birth, in MMDDYYYY format (ie. 06012011 is June 1, 2011) initially and until you change your profile. 

    Once logged into the site, go to your user profile and change your password  and email address (allowing future system emails such as "Lost Passwords").  To access your profile, click on YOUR NAME at the top and bottom of the page which is located next the words "You are logged in as...". 

    To begin training, select a course and click "YES" when asked if you want to register for the course (first time only).  You may then complete the segments of this course at your own pace.  

    When you are taking any class on the Online Training Center, we highly encourage you to save a screen capture (print screen, photograph, etc.) when you get to the results page that tells you that you "Passed."  This will serve as evidence of completion in the rare case that the system does not capture your grade or release your certificate.

Available Courses

  • The successful completion of this course will meet the 2012 Protocol Updates requirement for ALS providers (ALS providers are not required to take the BLS update as all information is contained in this program). The course must be completed before June 1, 2012 by all ALS providers licensed in Maryland. This course is approved for 1 hour of Category 2 Continuing Education, #1299100.
  • Completion of this course meets the 2013 requirements for protocol updates for Maryland hospital base station personnel. Field providers should complete the protocol update that is related to their level of licensure/certification because this course does not meet the requirements for field providers.

  • Successful completion of this course will meet the EMT requirement for the 2012 protocol update. All EMT providers must complete this training before June 1, 2012. This course has been approved for 0.5 hours of Category L Continuing Education credits, #1299101.

  • Completion of this course meets the 2013 requirements for protocol updates for Maryland EMR (First Responder) providers.Successful completion will result in 1 hours of Local Option (Category 2) continuing education hours in the student's continuing education records.
  • This course covers the requisite components to request medevac transport prior to arrival and assessment of EMS personnel.  Completion of the course will provide 0.5 hours of Continuing Education Credit.
  • Completion of this course will meet the 2012 protocol update requirements for Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs), formerly known as First Responders. Completion of this protocol update is required by all Maryland Certified EMRs (First Responders) before June 1, 2012. This course has been approved for 0.5 hours of Category L Continuing Education Credit, #1299102.
  • This course was developed by the MIEMSS EMS for Children Program to provide continuing education for BLS and ALS providers as well as hospital personnel. In this course, Major Dennis Wood, MS, NREMT-P from Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department discusses the hazards and prevalence of CO poisoning, the process to respond to a CO incident and how to appropriately treat patients.

    This presentation was offered in-person during a Safe Kids Maryland Coalition state meeting held on December 13, 2011.

    This Carbon Monoxide Hazards and Response course is approved for 1 hour of EMS continuing education credit (ALS Cat B or BLS Cat M).

  • Completion of this course meets the 2013 requirements for protocol updates for Maryland EMT providers . Successful completion will result in 1 hour of Local Option (Category 2) continuing education hours in the student's continuing education records.
  • Although much of the content of this course is applicable to the general use of eMEDS in Maryland, this course is specifically designed to address Prince George's County policies and procedures.  Please refer to your local jurisdiction for clarification regarding appropriate local practice.

  • This course has been developed for Fire/Rescue/EMS providers by the Maryland State Police Aviation Command.  It has been approved for 0.5 hours of continuing education credit (ALS Cat B. or BLS Cat T).
  • After viewing the review for each of the medications and passing the assessment quiz with a score of 70%, the provider will qualify for 1/2 hour of medical continuing education credit.
  • This course was developed by the MIEMSS EMS for Children Program to provide continuing education for BLS and ALS providers.  This ALTE course is also appropriate for hospital professionals.  In the course, Karen O’Connell, MD, FAAP from Children’s National Medical Center discusses ALTE recognition, triage and treatment along with two case studies.  

     

    This ALTE course is approved for 1 hour of continuing education credit (ALS Cat A or BLS Cat M).

     

  • This course provides an overview of the new MOLST forms which go into effect on 1 October 2011 and will eventually phase out the current EMS DNR form.  This course fulfills the training requirement due before 1 December 2011.  This course has been approved for 0.5 hours of continuing education (BLS- M, ALS- B)
  • The course is intended for hospital personnel, and other non-field providers, to orient them to the changes in the Maryland EMS protocols that go into effect on July 1, 2012. This course DOES NOT meet the protocol update requirement for field providers. This course has been approved by MIEMSS for 0.5 hours of Category L Continuing Education Credit, #1299103.
  • The successful completion of this course, all segments and quiz, will provide the student with three (3) hours of Category 2/Local Option continuing education credit.
  • Completion of this course meets the 2013 requirements for protocol updates for Maryland ALS providers (CRT, Paramedic). Successful completion will result in 1.5 hours of Category 2 (Local Option) continuing education hours in the student's continuing education records.
